I have since i was 14 years old been producing music. Signed a record deal a 17 for my trance project but it was never released. Time went on and I have been through many phases and genres. My lofi/jazzhop project Repepoklouze has gained around 70k plays but that as far as I’ve gotten...
100 000 songs are released daily on streaming services. So how does one stand out from all the noise?
Many acts have gained a following by adopting a persona. We're talking Daft Punk, Gorillaz and more...
What if I made up an interesting character to be the face of my music?
Create a mad scientist uncle who reclusively pursued the search for "The Perfect Sound"
Let's start off by listening to the music.
For the logo I went with a spiral shaped waveform inspired by how a sawtooth wave looked on an oscilloscope.
The typography was chosen to convey a sense of retro futurism and science.
For the colorpalette I went black, white and with an orange accent color.
To communicate the obsession of Hermann I created a blackboard with scribbles,
To tell the story of the constant hunt I made a couple of handwritten notes.
The icons are a work of me, Daniel, the nephew and designer who wants to elevate the image of Hermann. So I allowed the style to be different from Hermanns own style.
I designed a series of sciency visuals.
A vinyl record obviously had to be designed!

Next up, The Lab!
I wanted to invite potential fans into the world of Hermann by building his studio (or lab, as I call it).I downloaded 3D models and placed them out using Cinema 4D. All content on the blackboard, the screens and the notes are made by me, atleast.
I brought the TVs from his lab onto the stage and wanted to sync the TVs to the music for live performances.
To make Hermann come alive, I would love to have an actor, showing Hermann in his lab, but in the absence of that, I created Hermann using AI.
To sell the story of Hermann to the world I created a website. Check it out: https://hermannrosquist.com
